In 2023, Julie obtained her master’s degree from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where she specialized in Civil and Procedural Law. During her studies, her interest in data protection, intellectual property law, and information technology grew, particularly through courses such as European Data Protection Law and Legal Aspects of the Information Society. This interest led her to pursue further studies with a Manama in IP & ICT Law at KU Leuven, Brussels campus.

To gain practical experience, Julie has completed several valuable internships. She did two summer internships at law firms, where she encountered various legal aspects. Additionally, during her Manama program, she interned at the Knowledge Centre Data & Society in Leuven, where she focused on legal, ethical, and societal questions regarding artificial intelligence and data applications.

Since August 2024, Julie has been working as a lawyer at De Groote De Man. She is part of the Data, Tech & Entertainment team. Julie feels completely at home at DGDM, where she shares the organization’s DNA and enjoys working in the warm and enthusiastic environment of the firm.

In her free time, Julie is a true foodie. She even worked for two years in a vegan breakfast and lunch bar, where she primarily worked in the kitchen. Additionally, she regularly attends festivals, practices Pilates, enjoys thrift shopping, and is always up for a cozy coffee or wine bar outing with friends.
