Steven De Grave, Author at De Groote De Man

Atty Steven De Grave received his Master in Law at the VUB in 2007, after earning his licentiate degree as a translator from French and Italian.

Steven’s predilection and focus lies primarily on entrepreneurship. He therefore works mainly in the fields of Commercial Law and Labour Law. He advises entrepreneurs about e.g. competition and market practices, procedures on commercial leases or assistance with contracts. He has built up particular expertise with regard to (bank) agency.

Steven has also amassed a great deal of experience in Labour Law. He accompanies clients in their employment contracts and advises them on issues such as dismissal, working hours, etc.

In recent years he has also worked regularly within companies as their “in-house lawyer”. This experience has given him a unique perspective. He not only knows the external, legal side of a company, but also what’s going on from the inside.

A fervent sportsman himself, he is pleased to assist professional and recreational athletes when they have questions about their rights, contracts or Sports Law in general.

Since 2019 Steven is an officially accredited Mediator in Civil and Commercial Matters. Deeply convinced that a court proceeding should never be regarded as the sole option for settling a conflict, he functions as a contact point for parties wishing to arrive at a constructive resolution for their dispute.

Besides his work at the firm, Steven places great importance on sports and a healthy diet, and he is known to participate in the occasional fitness competition.
