Hermien Bulckaen obtained a Master’s degree in Criminological Sciences at Ghent University with the highest distinction, followed by a Master’s degree in Law at the same university with distinction.

After her studies, she gained three years of experience at a specialised law firm in Amsterdam active in (international) criminal law and revision cases. She worked on complex, cross-border matters and was responsible for handling revision cases. During this period, she also pleaded her first revision case in Curaçao.

She subsequently worked at the Antwerp Bar at a niche firm specialising in criminal law, where she further deepened her expertise in this field.

Since October 2025, Hermien has been working at De Groote – De Man within the Criminal Law team.

In her free time, Hermien enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is also passionate about boxing, running and swimming, and likes to design sketches for evening wear.
