Lauren Hemelsoet

Lauren Hemelsoet obtained her Master of Laws at Ghent University with distinction. During her studies, she spent a semester at the University of Lisbon, where she focused on public international law. However, her true passion turned out to lie elsewhere: business law gradually won her heart.

While studying, Lauren gained valuable experience at an accounting firm, where she worked for several years as an administrative assistant. During that time, she was also active as a student-entrepreneur, focusing on marketing and copywriting. Together with a few others, she co-founded a platform aimed at helping starting self-employed professionals manage their own bookkeeping.

After graduating, Lauren worked for a year as an assistant accountant. Yet her growing interest in business law ultimately brought her to the warm and dynamic Corporate Law team at De Groote – De Man, where she started in April 2025.

Lauren is fluent in Dutch, English, French and Spanish, and she’s also quite proficient in Portuguese. Outside of work, she enjoys unwinding with a good game, joining group classes at the gym, and spending time at home with her two cats.
