Steve De Cauwer is Counsel within the departments Corporate and Real Estate Law.

Mr Steve De Cauwer graduated with honours from VUB in 2007 as a law graduate. For Steve, law is an absolute passion, with in-depth expertise in dispute resolution.

At De Groote – De Man, he handles files within the Corporate Law and Real Estate departments.

Steve has assisted clients from various sectors in the past in litigation files within corporate and real estate law. Among other things, he successfully defended several large multinationals in liability disputes. Among other things, he provided assistance in the aviation sector, in files concerning aircraft seizures.

Besides his work as a lawyer, Steve also has a strong academic interest. Since 2021, he has been appointed a voluntary academic assistant at the VUB in the Private and Economic Law Department. Steve is a teaching assistant for the subject “Special contracts” in which he gives, among other things, a guest lecture on “Construction promotion and the Breyne Law”. He is also a jury member for the assessment of Master’s theses.

Steve publishes on contract law.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys spending time with his family and practising martial arts (boxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu).
