Jan graduated as a lawyer from KU Leuven in 1992, after which he completed an additional year specializing in taxation.

Most of his career has been in the service sector and liberal professions (such as accountancy, veterinarians, notaries, architects, and engineers), so it’s no surprise that he has now chosen to pursue a career in law at DGDM. With 18 years at Fednot (the Federation of Notaries), the legal world is very familiar to him. At Fednot, he advanced to become HR Director and Director of the Social Pillar, where he was responsible for centralizing all notarial institutions with a social purpose. This role marked the beginning of his HR career.

Since the end of 2015, Jan has worked as an independent HR and organizational consultant, focusing primarily on long-term in-house assignments.

His passion lies in helping people grow within a healthy and stimulating corporate environment and culture. Through training in HR management, Innovative Labor Organization, constructive communication, and his certification in the ‘People Model Canvas,’ he has gained the expertise necessary to excel in this role.

Jan is a true family man who enjoys a variety of activities with his wife and three children. On weekends, you can often find him in a sports hall, cheering on his daughters’ volleyball team (and at beach volleyball tournaments in the summer), or attending concerts, theater, and musical performances. Occasionally, he laces up his shoes for a game of indoor soccer with his son. During rush hour, you’ll usually spot him cycling through the streets of Ghent, commuting to and from DGDM.
